Peterborough Young Singers are an independent youth choir made up of a Junior & Senior section, with members from age 7 up to 21.

The choir meets on a Saturday morning during school term time in the community facilities at the CSK Church, Silver Hill, Hampton, Peterborough, PE7 8FF.  The sessions begin at 9:30am, juniors finish at 10:45am and seniors finish at 11:30am.  Rehearsals are relaxed, informal and under the musical direction of Matt Smith, an experienced Head of Music and performer, who has led our choir for several years.

We are always keen to welcome new members to our singing family and encourage anyone that has an interest in singing to call in one Saturday morning and join us for a free trial.  We do not hold auditions!  There are no entry requirements………other than enthusiasm to sing!

The choir has performed at a wide variety of events, from singing Christmas Carols at the local residential home, appearances at local school fetes, collaborative concerts and taking part in a nationwide performance of Messiah at The Royal Albert Hall.  We sing a range of modern and more traditional songs based on feedback and suggestions from our choir members.

As an independent organisation originally established in the early 1990s we are run by a dedicated team of parents who are focused on the children’s enjoyment.  We aim to have at least one performance per term for the children to look forward to, in addition to social events that enable the children to let loose and have fun together in a totally different environment.  These have previously included Ice Skating, Laser Force and Summer BBQ’s!

Sing Together; Perform Together; Have Fun Together
